2026 ADPCA China Hub

The 2026 ADPCA China Hub has the formal agreement of the conference's Greek hosts, and will run online from July 17 to 19. We're honored and glad to gather with you once again — come with your curiosity and your own understanding of ADPCA, and let's co-create this year's China Hub together.

About ADPCA

What the ADPCA annual conference is like

ADPCA — the Association for the Development of the Person-Centered Approach — was founded in 1986. 2026 marks its 40th anniversary.

The annual ADPCA conference is a singular way to experience and learn the Person-Centered Approach (PCA) and Client-Centered Therapy (CCT). Held once a year, it offers space for personal and professional growth, where everyone is free to express themselves.

Daily large-group meetings (encounter groups) and regular small groups form the heart of the conference. It is a meeting place for person-centered practitioners, trainers, students and anyone moved by this way of relating — people from different cultures and professions sharing workshops, talks, discussion groups and demonstrations.

Unlike most traditional associations, ADPCA has no hierarchy. Every member may share their views and holds an equal voice in how decisions are made.

About the China Hub

Guided by the Person-Centered spirit, our team set out to organize an ADPCA China Hub, and applied to — and was formally welcomed by — the Greek hosts. We warmly welcome everyone to join with their own curiosity and understanding of ADPCA, and to co-create this year's 2026 China Hub together.

A few gentle notes

  • 01To keep a relatively safe space for expression, the conference is not recorded in any form, so there are no replays.
  • 02We will host LGBTQ-friendly and disability-friendly group rooms. Within our budget and means, disability access is currently supported via live captioning; for other needs, or if you can offer more support, please reach Julia.
  • 03Presenters' content, views and expression represent their own experience and stance only — not those of the China Hub team or the Carl Rogers Center. The team will do its best to make room for different voices.

Echoes from 2025

Words from participants and the team

Five stars. The formats were varied, and across two days I felt the sincerity of organizers, presenters and participants alike. My first encounter group felt wonderful. The fee was humane too — the lowest of any conference I've attended, yet the one I gained the most from.

I came without high expectations, yet learned a great deal and understood the approach more deeply. Groups and talks alike felt relaxed; here everyone can stretch out without being on guard. I'd hoped for a small scoop of water and stumbled instead upon an unexpectedly deep lake. I look forward to every year's gathering.

I think it's a really good gathering — a decentralized, de-hierarchized feeling that's still rather rare here.

My second time on the ADPCA team, and our first Chinese-language edition. I'm glad we gave our utmost to create a space for such encounters. There's plenty still to improve — I hope to keep co-creating with the Chinese person-centered community.
